Pennsylvania ARD Expungement is a process that allows individuals to have their criminal records sealed. This process is designed to help those who have completed their Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program to clear their criminal record, allowing them to move forward with their lives without the burden of a criminal record. This process is available to those who have successfully completed their ARD program, as well as those who have been denied ARD. There are two types of Pennsylvania ARD Expungement: discretionary expungement and mandatory expungement. Discretionary expungement allows a district attorney to request that an individual’s criminal record be sealed, while mandatory expungement requires that the court seal the individual’s criminal record after the completion of the ARD program. Both types of Pennsylvania ARD Expungement offer the opportunity to move forward without the burden of a criminal record.
