This application must be filed with the court in which the action is pending, and must be signed by the individual filing the application. The application must include the facts of the case, the reasons why more time is needed to respond to the legal action, and must include a proposed timeline for when the response will be filed. Both the Motion to Continue or Stay Proceedings and the Application for Continuance must be served on all parties involved in the action. If approved by the court, the continuance will extend the time for filing a response.
