Oklahoma Provisional Interpreters are individuals who are qualified to provide interpreting services in the state of Oklahoma. They are trained and certified by the Oklahoma Court Interpreter Program to interpret spoken and written language in court, legal, medical and educational settings. The Oklahoma Court Interpreter Program offers two types of provisional interpreters: Certified Provisional Interpreters and Qualified Provisional Interpreters. Certified Provisional Interpreters must meet all the program's requirements, including completing a state-approved training program and passing a written and oral assessment. Qualified Provisional Interpreters must meet the program's requirements, including passing a written and oral assessment, and demonstrate a basic understanding of interpreting language. This type of interpreter is often used in social service organizations and healthcare settings. Both types of interpreters provide a valuable service to the state of Oklahoma, ensuring that people from all backgrounds are able to access justice and receive quality medical care.
