Oklahoma Jury Trial/Jurisdictional Acknowledgements and Consents are agreements that must be signed by the parties involved in a lawsuit in order for the trial to proceed. These acknowledgements verify that the parties consent to the jurisdiction of Oklahoma courts. They also confirm that the parties are aware that they have the right to a jury trial, and that they waive that right. There are three different types of Oklahoma Jury Trial/Jurisdictional Acknowledgements and Consents. The first is a “Jurisdictional Acknowledgement”, which is a statement in which the parties agree that the courts of Oklahoma have the authority to resolve the dispute. The second is a “Jury Waiver”, in which the parties agree to waive their right to a jury trial and to have the court decide the case. The third is a “Consent to Jurisdiction”, which is a statement in which the parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Oklahoma courts. These acknowledgements and consents are important for ensuring that the parties can get a fair and impartial trial, and that the court has the authority to hear the case.
