New Jersey Proof of Witness is a type of legal document used to certify that certain witnesses have seen, heard, or otherwise been present in court proceedings. It is used to verify the identity of a witness, or to certify that a witness has provided testimony in a given court case. There are two types of New Jersey Proof of Witness: an Affidavit of Witness and an Appearance of Witness. An Affidavit of Witness is a sworn statement made before a Notary Public or other court-appointed official, verifying that the witness is the person named in the affidavit, and that the witness has seen, heard, or otherwise been present in court proceedings. An Appearance of Witness is a document signed by the witness in which the witness confirms that he or she has appeared in court to give testimony. Both documents are signed and notarized in order to be legally valid.
