North Carolina Designation of Registered Office Address and Or Registered Agent is a requirement of the North Carolina Business Corporation Act. It requires all domestic and foreign corporations to designate a Registered Office Address and Or Registered Agent in North Carolina. This Registered Office Address and Or Registered Agent must be within the state of North Carolina and must be available for receiving service of process. The Registered Office Address and Or Registered Agent must also be available to receive service of notices, demands, or other communications from the Secretary of State. There are two types of North Carolina Designation of Registered Office Address and Or Registered Agent: 1. Designation of Registered Office Address: A corporation must designate a Registered Office Address within North Carolina. This address will serve as the official mailing address of the corporation for the purposes of receiving service of process and other communications from the Secretary of State. 2. Designation of Registered Agent: A corporation must also designate a Registered Agent within the state of North Carolina. This Registered Agent will accept service of process on behalf of the corporation, as well as any notices, demands, or other communications from the Secretary of State. The Registered Agent must be a resident of North Carolina or a corporation authorized to do business in the state.
