Appeal of Suspension, Revocation, or Denial of Driver's License
Michigan Appeal of Suspension, Revocation, or Denial of Driver's License is a process by which a driver can challenge a suspension, revocation, or denial of their driver's license. In Michigan, the process is governed by the Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC). The process typically begins by submitting a written request for an appeal hearing, which is then heard by the Michigan Department of State Administrative Hearings Section (AHS). There are two types of Michigan Appeal of Suspension, Revocation, or Denial of Driver's License. The first type is a hearing for a suspension, revocation, or denial of a driver's license due to a traffic violation or an implied consent law violation. The second type is a hearing for a suspension, revocation, or denial due to outstanding warrants, unpaid fines or fees, or driver responsibility fees. At the hearing, the driver can present evidence and testimony to support their case. The AHS will then make a decision based on the evidence and testimony presented. If the driver is successful, their license will be reinstated. If the driver is unsuccessful, their license will remain suspended, revoked, or denied.
