The annual payment allows for Alaskans to share in a portion of the State minerals revenue in the form of a dividend to benefit current and future generations.

To be eligible for a Permanent Fund Dividend, you must have been an Alaska resident for the entire calendar year preceding the date you apply for the dividend. You must also intend to remain an Alaska resident indefinitely at the time that you apply.

PFD money is taxable income, though no federal income taxes are withheld. It is your responsibility to correctly report all PFD income for you and your minor child and pay all associated taxes.
