V-number: your 10-digit V-number is indicated at the bottom of the residence permit, following the letters VNR. Your V-number is also indicated in correspondence that you receive from the IND. What can you do with this residence permit? You can live in the Netherlands as long as your residence permit is valid.

The Netherlands residence permit application usually takes up to 90 days to be processed. After that, you will be notified whether or not you have been granted your residence permit. If your application is accepted, you can collect your Dutch residence permit at an IND office in the Netherlands.

If you do not do this within the required time, you will also need to inform the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) of your change of address. If you move abroad you must inform the IND before you leave.

The IND will process your application within 90 days. If the IND's decision is positive, you must hand over your passport at the embassy or consulate-general where you submitted the application. Your MVV will be placed in your passport within 10 working days.
