Also avoid anything that looks too comfortable or casual, such as basketball shorts, sweat pants, baggy pants, zip-up sweaters and hoodies, or any type of athletic or athleisure wear. These would all be considered inappropriate clothing in the courtroom.

Dress conservatively and in a respectful manner. Men should have a tucked-in button-down shirt, belt, closed-toe dress shoes, and dark-colored socks. Women should wear slacks and a dress shirt or a skirt and a dress shirt. Don't be too revealing, sexy, or inappropriately dressed.

Due to the dignity of Court proceedings, it is requested you wear business casual attire. The following are NOT permitted in the courtrooms: Hats, shorts, tank top, flip flops or beach attire.

No judgment by default shall be entered against the state of Tennessee or any officer or agency thereof unless the claimant establishes his claim or right to relief by evidence satisfactory to the court.
