Get Victor Valley College Academic Renewal Petition 2015-2023

Students may repeat the same course no more than two times in which substandard grades (“D”, “F”, “FW”, NC”, “NP”) or “W” were assigned. Students may file a Petition for Course Repetition with the Admissions and Records Office to request additional repeats due to specific, extenuating circumstances.

A student who is on academic probation shall be subject to dismissal if the student has earned a cumulative grade point average of less than 1.75 in all units attempted in each of three consecutive semesters.

Graduating with Honors Honors at the college commencement will be awarded to students with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Coursework taken during the final spring semester will not be used to calculate honors at commencement. Grade point averages are not rounded up.

VVC Academic Renewal Policy: A student may apply to have up to 24 semester units eliminated from inclusion in the GPA computation, if the student meets the specified criteria.

A Pass ("P") grade indicates satisfactory (a letter grade of "A," "B," or "C") work in the class and units awarded with such a grade. No grade points are assigned, however, and the grade is not used to compute the grade point average.

Completion Ratio -- Students must successfully complete a minimum of 67% (will round up if over 66.50 or greater) of the cumulative credit units attempted (cumulative earned units/cumulative attempted units). Grades of F, W, WF, U, I, and NR do not indicate successfully completed courses.
