Get Wood Badge Ticket Work Sheet

On completion of the course, participants are awarded the Wood Badge beads to recognize significant achievement in leadership and direct service to young people. The pair of small wooden beads, one on each end of a leather thong (string), is worn around the neck as part of the Scout uniform.

To successfully complete Wood Badge, Scouters must: Complete their Ticket within 18 months.

The purpose of Wood Badge is to develop skilled leaders who can strengthen Scouting units in achieving the mission of the Boy Scouts of America. When we accomplish the mission of Scouting, we do it in the units. Therefore, the short form of the purpose is, the purpose of Wood Badge is to strengthen units.

By taking Wood Badge, Scouters will acquire valuable tools such as listening, communicating, conflict management, project planning, and leading change. Participants will better learn to understand and appreciate diversity and differences in our society. They will learn skills that will make them a better Scout leader.

Wood Badge Beads These are two beads on the end of a leather thong that are worn around your neck. The beads are copies of those reported to have been taken from the necklace from which Baden-Powell captured from Chief Dinizulu. Three beads are worn by staffers and Scoutmasters wear four beads.

The purpose of a Wood Badge Ticket is to help you realize your personal vision of your role in Scouting. Ideally, you will write your ticket around your primary job in Scouting.

the axe and log, is the symbol of Wood Badge. It was adopted in the early 1920's as the symbol for Gilwell Park, where the first Wood Badge course was held in 1919.
