Chief Travis Gullberg began his law enforcement career 26 years ago. He joined the Gresham Police Department in 2021. The Chief oversees the administration and operations of the Police Department's Patrol, Investigations, and Support Services divisions. Chief Gullberg has worked in many career assignments.

Entry-level officers shall attend a 16-week State Basic Academy after being hired and also Portland's Advanced Academy. Lateral officers, who meet Oregon certification criteria, will attend a two week Career Officer Development class and the Advanced Academy. Lateral officers have a 12-month probationary period.
