What is Anne Frank diary summary?

The Diary of a Young Girl is the story of Anne Frank, a Jewish teenager who lived in hiding in Amsterdam during the Holocaust. Though she and six of the seven others would die after being discovered and captured, Anne's father, Otto, received his daughter's writings and published them as a historical memoir.

There are many important messages in this book, but the most important message is that all people have the right to live in freedom. Anne's story shows us that just because people may be a different religion or race, doesn't mean that they should be treated differently.

Encourage students to find out other information such as: what the Secret Annex looked like; Anne's personality; how Anne's diary was found; and life after the war. Explain to students that Miep is one of thousands of people who put their lives on the line to help Jewish people during the Holocaust.

Anne Frank's diary should be compulsory readings for 14 and over children at school doing exams or not. Much better than knowing how bad we all are, Anne Frank is and always will be a positive for the future. A very GOOD read.

Use the Museum lesson Diaries as Historical Sources, which introduces students to other young diarists. Ask them to consider the ways in which Anne self-edited her diary and encourage them to explore how young people are recording their own lives today.
