The Twelfth of July parades, also known as the Orange Order parades or Orangemen's Day, are annual events held in Northern Ireland on the 12th of July. These parades commemorate the victory of Protestant King William of Orange over Catholic King James II at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.

Four locations have been chosen to host this year's Twelfth in Co Down – Loughbrickland, Bangor, Comber and Kilkeel. In 2022, there was a lot of excitement after the tiny village of Greyabbey hosted a parade for the first time in more than 50 years.

The parade route is Russell Drive, Mourne Road, Pollock Drive, Gilford Road, Flush Place, Queen Street, High Street, Market Street and Windsor Avenue to the Demonstration Field at Brownlow House.

The Belfast city parade will leave Belfast Orange Hall, at Carlisle Circus, at 10am and will make its way along Clifton Street, Donegall Street, Royal Avenue and Donegall Place to Belfast City Hall for a wreath-laying ceremony then the parade will then proceed via Donegall Square West, Bedford Street, Dublin Road, ...

As always, Belfast is expected to welcome a large Scottish contingent, as the city holds the longest Twelfth parade on the day, with participants walking over six miles to the field. It's expected that Orangemen and women will walk representing nine districts – accompanied by approximately 60 bands.

On the 12th July Orangemen's Day is celebrated in NI by Ulster protestants. This day each year since the late 18th century Ulster protestants in NI have celebrated Orangemen's Day.

The main way in which the Twelfth is celebrated is through large parades involving Orangemen and supporting bands. Most of the parades are in Ulster, almost exclusively being held in Northern Ireland and County Donegal, although Orange lodges elsewhere often hold parades as well.

The full route is: Ward Park, Gransha Road, Castle Park Road, Castle Park Avenue, Abbey Street, Newtownards Road, Church Street, Oakwood Avenue, Belfast Road, Abbey Street, Main Street , High Street, Hamilton Road, Castle Street, Gransha Road and returning to Ward Park.

It will travel along Killinchy Street, High Street, Ballygowan Road, Railway Street, Orange Hall Lane, Brownlow Street, Glen Road, Mill Street, Castle Street, Bridge Street Link, Bridge Street, Comber Square, Killinchy Street and back to Park Way.
