How to fill out the Aluminum Extrusions Worksheet online

The Aluminum Extrusions Worksheet is an essential document for reporting aluminum goods subject to antidumping and countervailing duties. This guide provides a clear, step-by-step approach to help users fill out the worksheet accurately while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Follow the steps to complete the worksheet effectively.

  1. Click ‘Get Form’ button to obtain the worksheet and open it in your preferred editor.
  2. Fill in the 'Description of goods' field with a detailed description of the aluminum extrusions and include the corresponding part number.
  3. If known, enter the 'Tariff number' for the goods. You can refer to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States for the relevant information.
  4. Indicate whether the goods are aluminum shapes and forms produced by an extrusion process in China or if they are subassemblies containing such forms by selecting 'Yes' or 'No.' If you answer 'No,' you will need to stop filling out the form.
  5. Answer the question about whether aluminum alloys have Aluminum Association Series Designations ending in 1, 3, or 6. Select the appropriate option based on the characteristics of the aluminum alloy.
  6. Determine if the goods meet any exclusions as stated on the form. If none of the exclusions apply, proceed to the next question.
  7. For subassemblies containing aluminum extrusions, provide the values for the aluminum extrusion content and non-aluminum content in the specified fields.
  8. Enter the manufacturer name and address for the aluminum extrusions produced in China, followed by the exporter/seller's name and address, if known.
  9. Complete the 'Completed By' section with your name, signature, date, title, and company name. Ensure all fields are accurately filled out.

Aluminum extrusion is a process by which aluminum alloy material is forced through a die with a specific cross-sectional profile. A powerful ram pushes the aluminum through the die and it emerges from the die opening. When it does, it comes out in the same shape as the die and is pulled out along a runout table.

Where does the Pareto principle come from? The Pareto principle was developed by Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto in 1896. Pareto observed that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by only 20% of the population. He also witnessed this happening with plants in his garden—20% of his plants were bearing 80% of the fruit.

Extrusion Ratio = area of billet/area of shape. This is particularly true on approximately the first ten feet of extruded metal. Its metallurgical structure will approach the as-cast (coarse grain) condition.

It also is possible to manufacture 5000 series extrusions. However, the 5000 alloys series work-hardens quickly, so the extruder must run the extrusion press much more slowly. This makes 5000 series extrusions more expensive than 6000 series extrusions.

The curious name “80/20” is actually the brand name of the manufacturer of the extruded aluminum stock — 80/20, Inc.

Aluminum 6063 and 6061 cover most of the aluminum extrusions used for various applications. However, there is a difference between the two alloys and how they relate to the extrusion process. Aluminum 6063 is somewhat more ideal for the extrusion process, but 6061 is typically stronger.

Simply stated 80/20 is a T-slot construction system you can use to build virtually anything. When you think of 80/20 think of “an erector set” for adults. You mix, match, assemble and reassemble products to create your customized solution or innovation.

Direct Aluminum Extrusion This is the most commonly used extrusion aluminum technique. The aluminum extruder places the billet/heated aluminum in a container with heated walls while a moving ram pushes the metal through the die opening with force. This step produces a high amount of pressure.

Extrusion: The extrusion begins as the billet is pushed through a specially designed opening in the press known as the die. The die determines the final shape of the aluminum profile, and with high pressure & force, the aluminum is softened through the die to form the desired shape.

The 80-20 rule, also known as the Pareto Principle, is a familiar saying that asserts that 80% of outcomes (or outputs) result from 20% of all causes (or inputs) for any given event. In business, a goal of the 80-20 rule is to identify inputs that are potentially the most productive and make them the priority.
