Can you travel while on probation in Missouri?

Travel Restrictions You may not leave the Eastern District of Missouri without specific permission from your Probation Officer. Any travel outside the district requires advance written permission. Overnight travel within the district exceeding two nights should be reported to your Probation Officer.

PROBATION: The general terms of probation are no drinking, do not break the law, attend SATOP classes, etc. Probation length is usually for 1 to 2 years. A conviction with probation is commonly referred to as a "Suspended Imposition of Sentence" or SIS.

3 Levels of Supervision Level 1: Supervised probation $30 per month. Level 2: Supervised probation until all conditions completed, then changes to unsupervised probation, if no violations. $30 per month. Level 3: Driving records and criminal history will be checked regularly.

Failure to comply with the conditions set by the court results in a probation violation.

The granting of an Early Discharge rests primarily with the sentencing Court or the Parole Board. The Court may consider an Early Discharge for offenders that comply with their supervision conditions. The Parole Board can do this as well after the offender has completed three years of supervision in the community.

All travel outside the State of Missouri must be approved in advance by your Probation and Parole Officer. If approved, a written travel permit must be issued to you by your Probation and Parole Officer.

Missouri law makes it a felony for a convicted felon to possess a gun. Your SES probation is still a conviction on your felony tampering charge.
