The federal government (through the Congressional Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023) ended the extra COVID SNAP benefits, known as SNAP Emergency Allotments, as of February 2023. Households in Massachusetts received their last payment on March 2, 2023.

Massachusetts has received federal approval to provide P-EBT to children aged 0-5 years old for School Year (SY) 2022-2023. Children aged 0-5 years old are eligible for SY 2022-2023 P-EBT benefits if they are: under the age of 6; and. in an active SNAP case for the corresponding month(s) during SY 2022-2023.

Families will only receive one payment of $120 per eligible child to cover the summer of 2023. Pennsylvania will not be issuing payments for COVID-related absences during the school year.

During COVID, households got extra SNAP at the beginning of each month to buy food. Due to federal action, the last payment was March 2, 2023. The state is funding extra SNAP benefits for 3 more months.

Summer P-EBT benefits will be issued to DTA households and Non-DTA households. The Summer P-EBT benefit is $120 per child. The full payment of $120 is slated to be issued on July 25, 2023.
