Workplace First Aid Courses Most workplaces within 20 minutes of the hospital, will require one or more First Aid Attendants with Level 1 First Aid certification.

Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA 2) is a 36-hour program (excluding breaks) designed to provide the first aid attendant with the necessary skills to function as part of an effective first aid program in the workplace.

First Aid NQF Level 1 Course Content and Modules: Scene survey and casualty assessment. Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and choking. Shock and fainting. Bleeding, wounds and burns.

Upon successful completion of all components, participants will receive a national certificate valid for three years.

One of the biggest differences between Occupational First Aid Level 1 and 2 is the content. Level 1 covers basic topics such as CPR, AED use, and bleeding control, while Level 2 goes into more depth on topics such as burns, fractures, and head injuries.
