An owner of an installed testable backflow prevention device must: (a) Register the device with the local government; and (b) Have the device inspected or tested for operational functioning at least once each year by a person who is licensed to carry out the work (s.

In instances where a backflow prevention assembly or method cannot be installed, the owner must approved backflow prevention devices or methods at all cross-connections within the owner's water supply system. The notice and order will give a date by which the owner must comply with the order.

Testing Requirements Property owners are responsible to test existing backflow prevention devices every 12 months at a minimum. You must also test the device after any repairs are made. If PWSA does not receive test results, water service may be terminated.
