Every Tennessee county has a county register responsible for maintaining the county's land records. A deed must be filed in the register of deeds of the county where the property is located.

Oath of Value Statement: I hereby swear or affirm that the actual consideration for this transfer or value of the property transferred, whichever is greater, is $______________, which amount is equal to or greater than the amount which the property transferred would command at a fair and voluntary sale.
