A Direct Debit is an instruction from you to your bank that authorises a company to take an agreed amount of money from your account. You won't be able to create a new Direct Debit yourself. You'll need to contact the company you want to pay and they'll arrange for you to complete a Direct Debit instruction.

Direct Credit Request ($20,000+) To transfer more than $20,000 to an external bank account, for security, you'll need to: Download and fill out a Direct Credit Request form. Email the form back to us at dcr@mebank.com.au (electronic signatures on the form are acceptable)

Electronic transfers can process within 3 days max, it's quick and efficient and best of all the funds are secure. With cheques, they can take 10 days to clear and you need to ensure the funds are available in the account (cheque issuers account) the date the cheque is deposited not when the cheque is written.

Choose the account you're transferring from and enter your payment details. Select the 'Set up a recurring payment' option, then use the drop down menus to select how often payments will happen, and when they should start and end. Click 'continue' to confirm your transfer details and finalise your transaction.

Here's how to change or check your transfer limit: Log into internet banking. Click 'accounts' and select 'change transfer limit'. Click the. to the right of the account you want to change, select 'change limit' and enter your new daily transfer limit.

Organisations using the Direct Debit Scheme can use your account number, sort code and address to set up a direct debit from your account.
