You oversee the clinical functions of staff and have a legal and ethical responsibility to ensure quality care to clients, the professional development of counselors, and maintenance of program policies and procedures.

2.2. The SRQ (Palomo et al., 2010) assesses the six dimensions of the supervisory relationship—'Safe base', 'Structure', 'Commitment', 'Reflective education', 'Role model' and 'Formative feedback'—from the supervisee perspective.

Supervision in counselling is when a counsellor uses the services of another counsellor or psychotherapist to review the way they work with their clients.
