DASH - Domestic Abuse, Stalking and Harassment and Honour-Based Violence (HBV).

The DASH helps front line professionals identify high risk cases of domestic abuse, stalking and so called honour based violence. A completed DASH is also a decision making tool and helps decide which cases should be referred to Marac and what other support might be required.

A Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (or MARAC) is a meeting that is held to discuss the most high risk cases of domestic abuse and sexual violence, to share information and to safety plan to safeguard a victim.

The DASH risk assessment tool has been developed by ACPO, Laura Richards, in conjunction with CAADA (Coordinated Action against Domestic Abuse) to create a common tool for both police and non-police agencies when identifying and assessing victims of domestic abuse, stalking and harassment and honour based violence.

Any agency which is a member of the MARAC can make a referral. 2. All new referrals must be submitted on the official MARAC nomination form (copy attached). the professional assessing the risk there is reason to refer the case (see nomination below for more detail).

A Marac is a regular local meeting to discuss how to help victims at high risk of murder or serious harm. ... The meeting is confidential. Together, the meeting writes an action plan for each victim. They work best when everyone involved understands their roles and the right processes to follow.

Referral to MARAC All professionals from across the statutory and voluntary sector may refer cases to the MARAC. All documentation relating to the victim should be protectively marked. A common referral form is used among all agencies.
