EMTs are licensed at three levels in Alabama, EMT, Advanced EMT, and EMT-Paramedic.

Students must have a current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification, State of Alabama EMT license, and a course completion certificate from a state approved Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) course.

Emergency Medical Services, more commonly known as EMS, is a system that responds to emergencies in need of highly skilled pre-hospital clinicians.

The student has six months from the day they start to complete all aspects of the course. The student will spend 140 hours completing the didactic portion online at their own pace.

Students must complete EMT training from a state-approved institute in order to get EMT certification in Alabama. Students receive their EMT certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, which provide registration to all the emergency medical technicians from all over the country.
