A typical course of study for eighth-grade homeschoolers includes: Language arts. Math. Social studies. Science. Health and safety. Physical fitness program. Electives.

The STAAR tests taken in 11th grade are called Exit Level STAAR. Students must pass the Exit Level STAAR in English language arts, math, science, and social studies in order to graduate. Students who do not pass the eleventh grade Exit Level STAAR have multiple chances to retake the test(s).

8th Grade STAAR Social Studies Test The test contains 52 multiple-choice questions.

Math. It goes without saying that Math is a crucial topic that every student needs to learn. With Math, there's always more to learn and more advanced routes to take. Also, eighth-grade Math prepares the students for high school.

Although the passing point varies in each subject and in each year, you will need at least 25% to 35% to pass a test. Scoring above 55% is a satisfactory performance, while scoring 89% means you are a master of the subject. The grading system in the STAAR test is tough yet lenient.

Middle schoolers will analyze population and settlement patterns, evaluate how human activities modify the physical environment, and compare development, standards of living, systems of government, and economic factors around the world.

The study of history continues in the eighth grade with the colonial period in America and covers the American Revolution, the founding of the United States, the writing of the Constitution, the western expansion, the conflict with Native Americans, and the Civil War.
