Pesticides must be registered with EPA unless they meet the criteria for a minimum risk pesticide. EPA evaluates pesticides to ensure that when they are used ing to label directions they will not harm people, non-target species or the environment.

A Certificate of Registration from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is required prior to any person operating a pesticide application business in Connecticut. The business registration is required in addition to individual applicator certification.

Registering for Examination Registering for a new E-License account. Applying for a Private Applicator Certification. Upon successful completion of the exam, you will be emailed that you have an additional fee due, upon paying your certification fee you will be emailed your new certification.

All businesses must pay the $240.00 yearly fee. A renewal notices will go out 90 days prior to expiration with instructions for completing your online renewal.

All persons using pesticides professionally in Connecticut must possess an up-to-date certificate issued by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Any person making commercial fertilizer applications to an urban landscape must be certified by FDACS. To obtain a certificate, an applicant must take six hours of Green Industry Best Management Practices training and submit a copy of the training certificate and fee with the application form.
