A theme is a key message or lesson communicated in a story, poem, or play. Usually, works of literature don't openly state their themes. To find the theme or lesson of a story, look at the main events, the characters, and the characters' goals. Use these story elements to make inferences, or educated guesses.

Theme is the message that the author wants to show/tell readers. It is NOT just one word. Themes are implied, so you must infer, or make conclusions to figure it out. Themes are bigger than the story; they apply to the real world.​

A 4-Step Plan for Finding Theme Read the story, and pay attention to the plot and story elements. Ask yourself “What do people learn from reading this story?” (That's the theme!) Turn the theme into a question. Answer the question. The answers are the supporting details! (Which leads to citing evidence!)

Fax machines work by sending data in digital form over phone lines. This data is turned into a signal which is then transmitted using modems over copper wire lines of analog telephones. The Fax Journal report lists information about the last 200 incoming and outgoing faxes. Using this report, you can tell the date and time each fax was sent or received, the name or number the fax was sent to or received from (provided the Station ID has been set), and whether or not the transmission was successful.

To set up the Transmission Verification Report to print after every fax you send, follow the steps listed below: Press MENU, 2 (Fax), 4 (Report Setting), 1 (Transmission). Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select OFF, OFF+IMAGE, ON, or ON+IMAGE. ... Press OK. Press STOP/EXIT.

In the past, you'd send a fax only to be left wondering if it arrived or if the data got lost in the digital ether. Thankfully, these days you can see your fax's precise status by using fax tracking. Fax tracking takes classic technology and updates it for the digital age.

Traditional incoming faxes will display the number that they were sent from on the Caller ID of the fax machine. If you are using an online fax service that doesn't have identification included on it, you can contact the provider to request the number that the fax was sent from.
