What is Form 3CB and Its Applicability? The audit of the accounts under section 44AB, in case of a person who carries on business or profession and who is not required under any other law to get his accounts the audited shall file such audit report in Form 3CB.

Form 3CA-3CD is applicable in case of person who is required by or under any law to get its accounts audited. Form 3CB-3CD is applicable in case of a person not being a person referred above i.e. where accounts are not required to be audited under any other law.

In clause 21(b)(i)(A) auditor is required to check and report all the payments which are made to non-resident but TDS is not deducted on them. Under this clause, the auditor is required to give the following details for each such type of payment: date of payment. amount of payment.

It is conducted to achieve the following objectives: Ensure proper maintenance & correctness of books of accounts by the taxpayer & certification of same by the CA. Report observations / discrepancies noted by the CA during the course of audit.

(1) The report of audit of the accounts of a person required to be furnished under 90section 44AB shall, (a) in the case of a person who carries on business or profession and who is required by or under any other law to get his accounts audited, be in Form No.

2.2 Clause 14(b) The auditor should ensure that any deviation from the method of valuation as prescribed under section 145A is appropriately disclosed, and the effect thereof on the profit/loss is also indicated.

It is to certify the correctness of books of accounts maintained by the taxpayer, report observations / discrepancies noted by the CA and report prescribed information in compliance of various provisions of Income Tax Act as referred in Form 3CD by a CA.

A person who is not required by or under any other law to get its accounts audited is required to furnish report of audit of the accounts under section 44AB in Form 3CB along with the required particulars in Form 3CD.
