To register a Charitable Organization the following document must be submission: Application Form or Renewal of Charity Status (Application Form) Certificate of Registration / Certificate of Incorporation. Entity's Tax Registration Number (TRN)

A charity must have one or more of the purposes which have been defined in law. These include things like: relieving poverty, education, religion, protecting the environment, animal welfare, human rights and community development.

All entities seeking to be certified as a charitable institution, or to obtain benefits under the Charities Act, must first be registered with the Department of Cooperatives and Friendly Societies (DCFS).
