A middle/junior high student must have 2.0 GPA, or the equivalent of a 2.0 GPA based on a 4.0 scale, at the conclusion of each semester. A student's academic eligibility is determined by his/her GPA on the first day of each semester. A student's academic eligibility cannot change during the semester.

To be eligible for participation in interscholastic, extra-curricular athletics and student activities, a student entering the 9th grade must have been regularly promoted from the 8th grade. To maintain eligibility, a student must be receiving passing grades and progressing towards graduation from high school.

For 2019–20, the schools were classified based upon the total number of high school students, as follows: Class 8A - 2,406-4,799. Class 7A - 2,009-2,404. Class 6A - 1,663-1,993.

SENIORS – Senior athletes are not eligible for Junior Varsity competition and shall not play on any JV team in any sport. Exceptions: Cross Country (see the Cross Country By-Laws for specific details) and by consent of the League Commissioner. Also see “Eligibility of New Students” above.

participate at the high school level until the day he/she reaches the age of 19 years 9 months if the student has not exceeded his/her four-year limit of eligibility. The student becomes permanently ineligible at the high school level on the day he/she reaches the age of 19 years 9 months.

You can play high school basketball at 19 if your birthday is after September 1st. Any student who is 19 on or before September 1st is considered too old to play and ineligible for competition in all high school sports. The age limit rule applies to all students, even if they don't play the same sport.

A student is limited to four consecutive calendar years of eligibility from the date he/she begins ninth grade for the first time.

Must not have turned 19 before September 1 or you are ineligible to participate that year. Must attend school for two consecutive semesters prior to participation on a team.
