After you have used the allowed 16 units of repeat credit, or if you do not have enough units left to repeat a course, you may still repeat a course in which you received a C- or below. However, both grades will be averaged into your cumulative GPA; the first grade will not be removed from the GPA.

It does not take the grade off of a transcript, but marks the grade as academically renewed and does not incorporate the grade results into the overall GPA.

Students may not repeat an individual course more than once. Undergraduate students with extenuating circumstances who wish to attempt a course for a third time must appeal for an exception.

An undergraduate student is limited to three grade-bearing enrollment attempts for any specific class. A student attempting the same class for the third time will be charged a penalty fee equivalent to the out-of-state tuition for the same number of semester credit hours.

A pass grade is granted for performance that is equivalent to the letter grade of "C" or better, which equates to satisfactory completion. A student who fails to perform satisfactorily will be assigned a "no pass" grade. The student is held responsible for all assignments and examinations required in the course.

Academic Renewal is the process for removing previously substandard academic grades from your record. Academic Renewal is used in situations in which a past substandard grade does not reflect your current demonstrated ability.

Course Repetition to Alleviate a Substandard Grade Students may not enroll in a course more than three times, except in limited circumstances.
