The CFSC is a 10-member body of representatives from the Kentucky Judicial, Executive and Legislative branches of government and a county official appointed by the governor. The committee reviews design plans, cost estimates and financing proposals for new court facilities statewide.

In Kentucky, there are two federal district courts, a state supreme court, a state court of appeals, and trial courts with both general and limited jurisdiction.

The courts are divided into the Supreme Court, a Court of Appeals, a trial court of general jurisdiction know as the Circuit Court and a trial court of limited jurisdiction known as the District Court.

​​​​​The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The AOC supports court facilities and programs in all 120 counties, with its main campus in Frankfort. The AOC was established in 1976 as a result of the Judicial Article.

Oral contracts | Claims involving oral contracts have a five-year statute of limitations. Written contracts | Claims involving written contracts have a 15-year statute of limitations. Personal injury claims | Some personal injury claims have a one-year statute of limitations.

The Judicial Conduct Commission is the only entity authorized under the Kentucky Constitution to take disciplinary action against a sitting Kentucky judge. The JCC also has authority over trial commissioners, domestic relations commissioners, master commissioners and attorneys who are candidates for judicial office.

An administrative order-on-consent (AOC) is an agreement between an individual, business, or other entity and a regulatory body in which they agree to pay for damages caused by violations and to cease the activities that caused the damages to occur.
