How to fill out the Provost Diversity Enhancement Program - Office Of The Provost online
The Provost Diversity Enhancement Program aims to promote diversity among faculty at the University of Central Florida by providing funding for the hiring of tenured or tenure-track faculty members, as well as university librarians. This guide will offer clear, step-by-step instructions on how to complete the Request for Consideration of Prospective Faculty Member form online.
Follow the steps to successfully complete the form
- Press the ‘Get Form’ button to access the form and open it in your online editor.
- Complete Section I of the form, which is designated for the college or unit. Fill in the name of the candidate, date of request, position title, college/unit, department, description of the proposed assignment, qualifications supporting the hire, and diversity background of the candidate.
- Provide the current representation of department faculty by percentage in the designated areas for White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, and American Indian, categorized by gender.
- Obtain the hiring official’s approval by including their name and title, and secure the Dean’s approval by signing and dating the specified area.
- Transmit the completed form along with the candidate’s curriculum vitae to the Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Office via email at eeo@mail.ucf.edu. Ensure that the submission comes from the Dean/VP office as no original signatures are required.
- If available, attach three documented telephone reference checks to the email. One documented recommendation letter may be used in place of one reference check.
- After the EO/AA review, await the Provost's review and action on the form. The Provost will provide comments and make a decision on the request.
- Follow the established faculty hiring process, submitting a hiring package to the EO/AA that includes both the Request for Consideration of Prospective Faculty Member form and the approved Request for Exemption from Posting form.
- Finally, take note of the requirement for a three-year and six-year progress update to be submitted to the Provost regarding all program participants.

The provost holds a higher position than a dean within the university structure. As the chief academic officer, the provost oversees multiple deans and ensures their departments work towards institutional goals, such as those outlined in the Provost Diversity Enhancement Program - Office Of The Provost. This hierarchy helps maintain a coherent academic strategy across the university.
