The following topics: Lamp Examination, Scene Examination, Scene Measurements, Tire Mark Evaluation, and Vehicle Evidence are presented in multiple choice and True/False format only.

The Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR), Accredited Traffic Accident Reconstructionist certification is for police officers, engineers, private investigators, and others who are trained and experienced in accident investigation and reconstruction in the United States or Canada.

The accreditation examination is a two part examination – Theory and Practical or Case Study. Candidates are allowed a maximum of four (4) hours per portion or eight (8) hours total with a break for lunch between portions.

How does an accident reconstructionist become accredited? A reconstructionist interested in becoming accredited must apply to the Commission and be deemed eligible to sit for an accreditation examination based on their unique combination of knowledge, training and experience.
