The nationally recognized Level 1 Trauma Center at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, is the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the state of Arkansas.

We also have "Level II" trauma services at our Infirmary (Little Rock) and Hot Springs hospitals. We offer: 24-hour immediate coverage by general surgeons, as well as coverage by the specialties of orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, radiology and critical care.

Trauma centers vary in their specific capabilities and are identified by "Level" designation: Level I (Level-1) being the highest and Level III (Level-3) being the lowest (some states have five designated levels, in which case Level V (Level-5) is the lowest).

St. Vincent's is a Level 2 Trauma Center, certified by the American College of Surgeons, Committee on Trauma. In the case of severe trauma, the trauma surgeon leads the surgical team that may include specialists such as vascular surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, and other surgeons as needed.

Level 1 Trauma Centers provide the highest level of trauma care to critically ill or injured patients. Seriously injured patients have an increased survival rate of 25% in comparison to those not treated at a Level 1 center.

CHI St. Vincent is part of CommonSpirit Health, a nonprofit, Catholic health system dedicated to advancing health for all people.

Vincent Hot Springs is a regional acute-care hospital, providing an emergency department with a Level 2 Trauma Center designation, a large medical group clinic network and a comprehensive range of medical services.
