How to fill out the ED Form 270 online

Completing the ED Form 270 is essential for institutions seeking reimbursement of Title IV funds. This guide offers step-by-step instructions to assist users in filling out the form accurately and efficiently.

Follow the steps to complete the ED Form 270 online.

  3. In item #2, enter the institution name and address. Ensure to separate each part with commas, including department, street address, city, state, and zip code.
  4. Complete item #3 by entering the institution's eight-digit OPEID number.
  5. Provide the nine-digit DUNS number in item #4.
  6. Use the drop-down feature in item #5 to select the Federal Student Aid School Participation Division servicing your state.
  7. In item #6A, enter the award year for the total Title IV amount disbursed, followed by the specific dollar amounts for each program. Use only digits and a decimal for cents.
  8. For item #6B, select the estimated balance date of federal cash on hand, then enter the dollar amounts as instructed.
  9. In item #6C, select the beginning and ending periods for requested funding using the calendars. Calculate and enter the funding amount by subtracting the cash on hand from total disbursed funds.
  10. Read the warning and certification statements thoroughly before certifying the form. Ensure that the Comptroller or Third Party Servicer provides a digital signature and completes all relevant sections.
  11. Type the legal name of the signing official and provide contact information. If not using a digital signature, print the document and sign manually.
  12. Finally, save the completed form, and print or share it as necessary. Retain a copy for your records.
