CISPR Standards aim to the protection of radio reception in the range 9 kHz to 400 GHz from interference caused by operation of electrical or electronic appliances and systems in the electromagnetic environment.

CISPR (Comité International Spécial des Perturbations Radioélectriques) set standards for controlling electromagnetic interference in electrical and electronic devices and is a part of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

The radiated emissions measurements and limits in CISPR 32 are the same as compared to those in CISPR 22 and CISPR 13. CISPR 32 provides more detailed information on the specific emissions limits for various ports on the DUT, including emissions on the shields of optical fiber ports.

About CISPR 32 CISPR 32 applies to multimedia equipment having a rated ACrms or DC supply voltage not exceeding 600 V, but equipment within the scope of CISPR 22 or CISPR 13 is also within the scope of this publication. Two classes of End User Terminal Equipment Under Test EUT (Class A and Class B) are considered.

CISPR 35 is an EMC standard for multimedia equipment (MME) operating on a frequency range from 0 to 400 GHz and having a supply voltage of not more than 600 V. CISPR 35 focuses on providing intrinsic immunity levels of multimedia equipment so that they will work in an optimum manner.

A key difference is that CISPR 24 provides guidance on testing different types of devices while CISPR 35 focuses on “functions” of the EUT. For example, in the annexes of CISPR 24 there are annexes aimed at telephony terminal equipment, data processing equipment, local area networks, printers and plotters, etc.

EN 55024 is equivalent to CISPR 24 and applies to, as the name implies, information technology equipment (ITE). EN 55024 defines the immunity test requirements for information technology equipment in relation to continuous and transient conducted and radiated disturbances.
