  7. Determine the level of net pay (X) at which the debtor will have received the maximum monthly exemption. Use the formula: X = M plus $3200.
  8. Proceed to calculate the Amount Payable to the Clerk. Check which alternative applies based on the value of N in relation to M and X, and fill in the necessary calculations as described in the section.
  9. If the debtor is paid more frequently than monthly, follow the additional optional procedure specified on the form. Repeat steps 4 through 8 for each pay period, checking the corresponding deductions and exemptions.

Garnishing a Bank Account There is no limit on the amount you can garnish from a bank account. However, you will only be able to garnish the debtor's funds and not funds that the debtor holds in a joint account with someone else.

Self-employed debtors who bill their clients directly can have 100% of their income directed to the CRA in order to pay off their outstanding tax debts.

Garnishment exemptions These include: Employment Insurance payments, Old Age Security benefits, Pension benefits, and any disability benefits issued by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board or Ontario's Disability Support Program. These cannot be garnished even after they have been deposited into a bank account.
