EMS stands for Engine Management System, consisting of a wide range of electronic and electrical components such as sensors, relays, actuators, and an Engine Control Unit. They work together to provide the Engine Management System with vital data parameters.

The EMS is comprised of sensors for intake air and coolant temperature, turbo boost and intake manifold absolute pressure (MAP), throttle position (TPS), engine rpm and position, and exhaust oxygen sensors (UEGO or HEGO).

The EMS sensor is used to perform an indirect measurement of moisture levels in materials not compatible with standard measurement techniques, such as gypsum, concrete, masonry and insulation.
