Get Minnesota 4-H Horse Member Achievement Program - University Of Bb - Extension Umn

Youth may enroll in 4-H on August 1 if they are 8 AND in the 3rd grade on September 1. If they turn 8 after September 1 and are in 3rd grade, they will not be eligible to enroll as a 4-H member until the next 4-H year, but they may participate as a Cloverbud.

Criteria. For Minnesota 4-H members who will be entering their freshman year at a Minnesota college or university. This is a one-time $1,000 scholarship awarded to six applicants for their education expenses, such as tuition, books, room and board, etc.

4-H membership is open to all youth beginning in 5K (five-year-old Kindergarten) through one year beyond high school graduation and not to extend beyond the age of 19 as of December 31 of the enrollment year.

4-H Members – Must be 9 years old by December 31 of the program year and may continue in the program until the end of the calendar year (December 31) in which they become 19 years of age. 4-H Adult Volunteers – An individual must be eighteen (18) years or older to become a 4-H adult volunteer.

What is the Lancaster County 4-H Horse Program? Through 4-H horse projects, club members learn leadership, responsibility, sportsmanship, cooperation, and other important life skills. Lancaster County has several horse and pony clubs located throughout the county.

Who can join 4-H? 4-H is for anyone in kindergarten through one year post-high school (grade 13). Youth in kindergarten through second grade are considered Cloverbuds.

Learn more about how youth can participate in 4-H. Anyone in kindergarten through one year past high school (grade 13) may enroll. To enroll in grade 13, the young person must have been enrolled in Minnesota 4-H as a high school senior.
