Renewal Requirements Renewal Cycle: Brokers and salespersons in New York must complete continuing education every 2 years to renew their license.

Real Estate Sales and Broker licenses must be renewed online through eAccessNY. A postcard and email renewal reminder containing eAccessNY renewal instructions is sent to all Real Estate licensees approximately 90 days prior to their license expiration date.

If your license happens to expire, you have a period of two years from the date of expiration to renew your license. If you fail to renew within that period, you will be required to pass the state written examination and submit a new salesperson/broker application and fee.

Broker submits online application The active Broker of Record can apply for the reinstatement of a license using the “Hire / Reinstate Licensees” process of their Online Licensing Services Main Menu. Out-of-state companies must submit a paper application.

You can do this by submitting a Reinstatement of Real Estate Sales Agent License or Broker License by Individual form and paying the required $190 renewal fee. Your license will be reinstated as an inactive license.

It costs $55 to renew your New York real estate salesperson license. Grab your credit card because you'll need to pay that fee in the eAccessNY portal as part of the renewal application. Click “Submit” just once to send in the payment — and your renewal application. You should get a confirmation page at this point.

The State of Massachusetts allows you to reactivate your license after attending 12 hours of continuing education at an authorized real estate school. If your license is expired, you'll need to pay a late renewal fee in addition to your regular license renewal fee. The late renewal fee is $57.

Renew or Update A Real Estate Salesperson license is good for two years. Your license expiration date is printed on the license. Three months prior to your license expiration date, you are sent an email and post card reminder that it's time to renew your real estate license.
