(Most schools use a weighted GPA out of 4.0, though some report an unweighted GPA. With a GPA of 3.52, San Jose State requires you to be around average in your high school class. You'll need a mix of A's and B's, and very few C's. If you have a lower GPA, you can compensate with harder courses like AP or IB classes.

Complete the following steps to submit your appeal: Email the following documents below to graduate@sjsu.edu: Formal Letter from Applicant: send us a formal letter requesting that we reconsider your application. The letter must come from you (the applicant).

Applicants may submit a maximum of one appeal per academic term. It is our usual practice to respond to appeals within three weeks of the date we receive a completed submission. However, we cannot guarantee a response by deadlines you may have at other colleges where you have applied.

If you are applying to SJSU, the regular decision application deadline is December 15 and the fee for the application costs $70. Students who apply to SJSU for fall semester should anticipate a decision by January 8.
