Virginia's state sales and use tax rate is 4.3%. There is an additional 1% local tax, for a total of a 5.3% combined sales tax on most Virginia purchases.

The tax applies to LLC, partnerships, S-Corps and certain individuals and is filed on Form D-30. Taxpayers are subject to tax at a rate of 9.2% on net profits.
