Follow the steps to successfully complete your CO DR 0122 form.
- Press the ‘Get Form’ button to obtain the CO DR 0122 form and open it in your preferred online editor.
- Begin by entering the total miles traveled during the period in Line 1A. Be sure to include both IFTA and non-IFTA jurisdictions. Round to the nearest whole mile.
- Calculate your average miles per gallon by dividing the total miles (Line 1A) by the total gallons (Line 1B) and enter the result on Line 1C, rounding to two decimal places.
- Indicate the appropriate fuel type on Line 2. Remember that a separate form is required for each fuel type.
- In Column 3, list all IFTA jurisdictions where you've traveled, ensuring all entries have correct abbreviations and omitting any jurisdictions with zero miles.
- Enter the total miles traveled in each IFTA jurisdiction in Column 4, rounding to the nearest whole mile. For non-IFTA jurisdictions, provide total miles below the column totals.
- In Column 5, report taxable miles for each jurisdiction. This amount is the total miles from Column 4 minus any miles incurred using a fuel tax trip permit.
- Column 6 should reflect the taxable gallons for each jurisdiction, rounding to the nearest whole gallon and only including gallons used from bulk storage.
- Calculate the net taxable gallons in Column 8 by subtracting Column 7 from Column 6. Use parentheses if the amount indicates a credit.
- In Column 9, enter the tax rate for each applicable IFTA jurisdiction. Do not include non-IFTA jurisdictions.
- Multiply Column 8 by Column 9 to get the tax in Column 10, indicating credit amounts with parentheses.
- For late filings, calculate interest in Column 11. If not late, skip to Step 14.
- Add Column 10 and Column 11 together in Column 12 if interest is due, or keep it the same as Column 10.
- Calculate and enter the amount on Line 13 if there is a positive total tax due. Use Line 14 for reporting a credit.
- Enter '0' on Line 15 if filed on time. If late, report the calculated penalty.
- Complete your return by adding the specified lines to find the total amount due or the refund on Lines 17 and 18. Remember to sign and date the report.
- Ensure you save changes, download, print, or share the completed form as needed to retain your records.
