These events are organized by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and to share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in their communities. TEDx events include live speakers and recorded TED Talks, and are organized independently under a free license granted by TED.

Apply for a TEDx license You need to apply in advance as TEDx event applications can take up to eight weeks to review. You will have 12 months to organize the event once you are licensed. TED advises that you need at least three months to organize an event but starting earlier is recommended.

TEDx does not pay speakers. Speakers receive complimentary tickets for themselves and one guest. Most speakers stay for the whole event.

Eligibility. If you want to organize a TEDx event, you'll need to apply for a free TEDx license; there is no application or member fee to become an organizer. No one is eligible to organize an event without being granted a license by TED.

This person manages most of your event's day-of logistics, and is responsible for creating a “TEDx experience” for your guests. They serve as the contact with your venue's staff, manage day-of event activities outside of the main stage, and are often in charge of ticketing and registration needs.
