Complete the core curriculum at a Texas public junior college or other Texas public or private lower-division institution of higher education. Earn a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a four-point scale (or the equivalent).

Must have a minimum, overall GPA of 2.75 or higher. This is a true GPA, which includes all coursework – transfer and UTA. The overall GPA of each incoming class admitted each academic year by an EPP may not be less than 3.0 on a four-point scale per TAC 227.19.

With a GPA of 3.47, UT Arlington requires you to be around average in your high school class. You'll need a mix of A's and B's, and very few C's. If you have a lower GPA, you can compensate with harder courses like AP or IB classes. This will help boost your weighted GPA and show your ability to take college classes.
