How to fill out the Schedule CT-40 online
The Schedule CT-40 is an essential form for full-year Indiana residents to report county tax information. This guide will provide you with a step-by-step approach to accurately complete the form online, ensuring compliance with Indiana tax regulations.
Follow the steps to successfully complete your Schedule CT-40.
- Click the ‘Get Form’ button to access the Schedule CT-40 and open it for editing.
- In the field for your name(s), enter the information as shown on your Form IT-40.
- In the Social Security Number field, input your Social Security Number accurately.
- On line 1, enter the amount from Form IT-40, line 7. If you and your partner lived in the same county on January 1, enter the full amount from line 7; do not complete Column B.
- Refer to the county tax rate chart found on the back of the Schedule CT-40 and enter the tax rate for the county you lived in on January 1, 2024, in line 2.
- In Column A for ‘yours’, multiply the amount from line 1A by the county tax rate you entered in line 2. Leave blank if the result is less than zero.
- Complete lines 3A and 3B, where applicable, and add them together. For Perry County residents, complete lines 5 and 6 if you worked in specific Kentucky counties. Otherwise, report the total on line 7.
- For those required to fill in lines 5 and 6, enter the amount of income taxed by the specified Kentucky localities in line 5 and multiply this amount by the Perry County rate in line 6.
- Subtract any applicable amounts as instructed, and ensure the final total is accurate and reflects on line 7.
- Once all information is complete, save your changes, download, print, or share the Schedule CT-40 as needed.
