How many credits can I transfer? Typically, students can transfer up to 45 credits to associate degrees or 90 for bachelor's degrees. But there's no set standard. Minimum and maximum amounts may vary between schools.

Limits on transfer credits Students will be granted up to 70 semester/105 quarter units of credit for lower-division coursework completed at any institution or any combination of institutions.

You must earn at least a “C” or better in an approved course to receive transfer credit. Please have an official copy of your transcript sent to astransfercredit@syr.edu as soon as your grades post, so that we can have the credit appropriately allocated prior to building your first fall schedule.

CUNY Community College Students Students with an AA or AS degree from a CUNY community college will be deemed to have completed CUNY Pathways Common Core requirements. Credits will be granted for courses with a grade “D” or better. There is a 70 credit maximum on the number of credits that may be transferred.

Appeals Process Students who wish to appeal the transferability of coursework must write a letter within the first semester after the work is posted on CU Boulder record or after receiving notice from the Office of Admissions that the coursework was not accepted for transfer credit.

Kean University will accept a maximum of 89 transfer credits, including a maximum of 66 lower-division credits (i.e. all credits taken at two-year colleges and any lower-division credits taken at four-year institutions).

An average student program consists of twelve to fifteen credits. Students who are not on academic probation may take as many as eighteen credits. Students who wish to take more than eighteen credits must request permission from the dean of the school or division.

The college will exempt or award no more than two courses based on these exams and the credit awarded will count towards the transfer credit maximum of 30 credits. CUNY has determined that the passing score for AP exams is 4 or better.
