'Save our Homes' is an amendment to the Florida constitution that took effect in 1995. It limits the annual increase in the assessed value of homesteaded properties to 3% or the change in the National Consumer Price Index (CPI), whichever is less.

Homestead Exemption for Seniors with Limited Income An exemption not exceeding $50,000 to any person who has the legal or equitable title to real estate, maintains their permanent residence on the property, is 65 or older, and whose household income does not exceed the household income limitation.
